Lagos Life: how to play your first week
Starting out is mostly about staying fed, rested and solvent. Follow these steps and you will survive the first few rent cycles.
Open the game in a real browser
Use Safari or Chrome rather than an in-app browser, which can block sign-in.
Create an account
Pick a username, a password of at least six characters, and add an email so a forgotten password can be reset.
Design your Sim
Choose a look, two personality traits, and a lifetime goal to work toward.
Take the birth lottery
The game decides your starting background once per account. You cannot reroll it.
Choose where to live
Pick a room, a self-contain or a student hall. Rent is deducted on a set day each week.
Get a job and show up
Apply on your in-game phone and arrive on time; performance drives pay and promotions.
Keep the basics intact
Watch hunger, energy, hygiene, bladder, fun and social needs. Low needs drag down your mood and your work performance.
Protect your rent money
Always keep enough for the next rent day. Unpaid rent turns into debt, and falling too far behind can send you back to cheaper housing.
Move around cheaply
Walking is free but tiring. Shared minibuses and keke are the cheapest paid rides, motorcycles are faster, and taxis are the comfortable, expensive option.
Beginner tips
- Keep needs topped up: hunger, energy, hygiene, bladder, fun and social.
- Always set aside the next rent day before you spend on anything else.
- Walk when you have time; take a paid ride when you do not.
- Add the site to your phone’s home screen so it opens like an app.
- Only trust the address the game itself publishes; there is no official app-store release.
